Isaiah Murphy suspected in 20 Dunkin’ Donuts robberies
Isaiah Murphy, who was arrested Tuesday, is suspected to be behind at least 20 holdups in 16 communities since March, Canton police said.
During the summer, Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants were robbed at gunpoint in Canton, Newton, West Roxbury, Westwood, Norwood, Walpole, Plainville, Norton, North Attleboro, Raynham and Easton,
The robberies then spread north to communities including Burlington.
“Evidence linking the suspect to many of the affected locations was uncovered” during a search of Murphy’s home, police said.
Dunkin’ Brands and police in nearly a dozen towns had offered a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect.
Canton police released a surveillance photo in an effort to catch the robber.
Murphy is scheduled to be arraigned in Stoughton District Court Wednesday.
