Brandeis students struck on South Street in Waltham
WALTHAM, Mass. — Three Brandeis University students were struck by a car on South Street in Waltham Sunday night, the university said in an email to its students.
Our news partners at Wicked Local Waltham reported that the students, an 18-year-old man, an 18-year-old woman and a 22-year-old woman, were taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. The students were in stable condition at the hospital as of Sunday night, police said.
The students were walking west to east in the crosswalk on South Street at about 6:25 p.m. when a 42-year-old Belmont man driving north in a gray Lexus hit them. The Lexus, which stopped, had damage to its windshield, Wicked Local reported.
The driver of the car remained at the crash scene. Police do not believe the driver was impaired.
The incident is under investigation by Waltham police.
