Kaitlin Pearson works at South Street Elementary School
FITCHBURG, Mass. — A Fitchburg teacher’s aide has been placed on paid administrative leave after photos of her modeling lingerie surfaced, the Sentinel and Enterprise reported.
Kaitlin Pearson, who works at the South Street Elementary School in the special education department, was placed on leave Friday when the school received an anonymous envelope with screenshots of her modeling, the newspaper reported.
“The paraprofessional was immediately placed on a paid leave of absence to assure student safety during the investigation and to mitigate potential disruption,” the school, who did not name the aide, said in a statement.
In one photo that was published by the Sentinel, Pearson is wrapped in silver garland, wearing a red lace see-through body suit. Pearson also appears “in one photo with another topless woman” on the cover of a September 2013 issue of ModelsMania magazine, according to the newspaper.
The school said its hiring procedure, “solely requires (Massachusetts Criminal Offender Record Information) checks on the background of potential employees. CORI checks only screen for criminal activity.”
