Chimney damaged, no injuries reported
FRAMINGHAM, Mass. — A rare January thunderstorm on Saturday resulted in lightning striking two Massachusetts homes, officials say.
The Boston Globe reports that homes in Danvers and Framingham were hit by lightning during the afternoon storm.
A home on Cherry Street in Framingham had its chimney “blown off” by lightning at about 3:30 p.m., according to a National Weather Service report.
Lightning also damaged a home on Lakeview Avenue in Danvers just before 4 p.m., according to the NWS.
No one was injured in either incident, The Boston Globe reported.
