When an Angel wakes in the morning

Their thoughts are not of themselves

They are making a mental checklist of their plan to help that day

They are willing to go near or far

Early or late

For the rich

or

For the poor

No task is too great or too small

They’ll risk sickness and health

Safety and Security

All to make sure a smile is on the face of another

They’ll offer up their comfort

They’ll open up their home to all

They’ll give you their last dollar

They’ll give you their last meal

They’ll hold your hand when you hear the worst

They’ll see you through your darkest moments

You’d be amazed at just what they’re willing to do

Not just for you

But

For anyone

Do you know an Angel?

I know

I sure do

And I’d give up everything just to see them

With reason to smile

Each of us bound to the life that’s been chosen for us

Our fate is marked when we take our first breath

We are all innocent when first we arrive

We must be careful when choosing which road to take

All that we see may not be as it seems

Choices must be made with care

For they will determine  which road you will take

Opinions can’t be made solely on what is seen

We will have to live up to expectations of all those watching over us

Our schooling will prepare us for the career we hope to obtain

Our religion or beliefs will guide us morally

Love and friendship will handle the rest

As long as you stay true to who and what you want to be

Life should go your way

Nothing will come easy

Hard work reaps reward

Be thankful and grateful for each day

Show compassion and understanding to those who struggle

Struggle to find their way as you have found yours

Carry on as the you I’m proud to know you

My biggest regret is not having the strength to convince the adults in my life about the bad things that happened to me that ultimately shaped the way my life turned out. While that is my regret, I most certainly don’t regret the steps that I have taken along the way that have made me who I am now and gave me 6 beautiful children. Life is full of choices and sometimes we have control over our choices and sometimes the choices are made for us.

Here are the results of a survey that was taken about other people’s most common regrets. I’m curious about whether or not most of you reading this share any of the same regrets. Who love to here yours, especially if they differ.

Never ending hope

09/02/2013 — 1 Comment

I sit on a bench watching a sea of faces rushing by.
Some angry
Some happy
Others talking to themselves
Others talking on their cell phones
Couples arguing
Parents reprimanding their children
Everyone oblivious to each other and the world they are in
Everyone is lost inside themselves
Lost in their own world of turmoil
Their problems
Problems of others
Thinking that nothing will change
Thinking that their is no hope
Then they look up to the sky and a dove flies by
Once again their is hope
Hope for change
Hope for a better tomorrow
They can now see past their turmoil and that of others
There’s no more arguing or fighting
There are solutions to their problems
I now see smiling faces
People are talking to one another in a happy place

Today we celebrate Labor Day
A holiday that we don’t have to differentiate who the day is meant for
We can celebrate it how we feel we want to honor ourselves and those
That we know have worked so hard for themselves their families
To have something to be proud of
To offer a part of themselves and earn something for being good at it
To help the place they live in and call prosper
We inspire ourselves
We motivate others
We try something new or stay with something old
What ever we do, we do it with pride
No matter where in the world we might be
Man, woman or child, we have something to celebrate

Today I celebrate remembering my first jobs as
A babysitter, newspaper carrier, assistant to an editorial consultant and a waitress, working at the library, town hall, police station and court-house during high school for business coop,
All those jobs before I started college

Do you remember your first job(s)? I’m sure you have much to be proud of too. Enjoy your celebration.
