Snow may be factor in crash, police say
Randolph MA
Vermont State Police said a Massachusetts man died when a truck he was in slid off Interstate 89 and collided with a tree.
Police said Benjamin Mohla, 21, of Wakefield, Mass., was riding in a pickup truck driven by Jonathan Taliadoros, 22, of Gloucester, Mass.
Officers said that at about 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Taliadoros lost control of the truck under snowy conditions on I-89 in Randolph, Vt.
Investigators say Mohla was riding in the backseat of the truck when it went off the roadway, down an embankment and struck a tree.
Mohla was killed, police said. He was not wearing a seatbelt.
Taliadoros and another passenger were taken to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Hospital with injuries, police said.
No other cars were involved.
