There Is An Intruder In My Heart
Making promises he knows he can’t keep
Promises of a blissful future
Where we are meant to be as one
A perfectly placed house
Atop a scenic hill
Where the clouds are always puffy and new
The sun always shines
And birds flock happily all day long
A white picket fence protects our children from harm
While our pets keep them dancing and rolling around
There Is An Intruder In My Heart©
Who keeps me full of happy thoughts
Only to bring me crashing down when his other lover comes around
It’s time to let go of these dreams I’ve been tugging around
