Police can’t immediately release details
WOONSOCKET, R.I. — Police say a lockdown at Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket has been lifted.
Woonsocket police have told WLNE-TV that the hospital was put in lockdown at approximately 7 p.m. Thursday after a man called 911 from outside the facility stating he was going to commit suicide.
WLNE reports that police negotiated with the man until about 9 p.m., and they then used a stun grenade before taking the man into custody.
Woonsocket Police Detective Jamie Paone tells WPRI-TV that no shots were fired inside the building.
A hospital spokeswoman did not immediately return a call for comment.
