GORHAM, Maine — Multiple agencies are responding to School Street where a University of Southern Maine student is armed and barricaded inside the Sigma Nu fraternity house.

USM spokesperson Bob Caswell said the fraternity was evacuated and that no injuries were reported.

USM has limited access at its Gorham campus, according to the school’s Twitter account.

A dispatcher with the Gorham Police Department said the confrontation began around 7:15 Wednesday evening.

Routes 114 and 25 are closed and traffic is being rerouted.
