Driving on the open road

A glance at the dark morning sky

The clouds look so dark and angry having much to say

They brought with them a chill for the rest of the day

Sending the warmth of summer elsewhere to stay

The sudden chill in the air made me long for a warmer day

There was such a darkness in I saw in clouds above

Nothing friendly

No beauty to the day

Just a cruel reminder

That

The cold would soon be here to stay

Maybe tomorrow

The friendlier clouds will return

And

People will again wear smiles upon their faces

And I will be able to look to the skies

Without fear of what the clouds might bring
