Driver dies in crash caused by debris on I-91 in Longmeadow

Longmeadow MA

A driver died on Interstate 91 in Longmeadow Sunday night after swerving to avoid couch cushions in the highway, Massachusetts State Police said.

The driver of a Jeep Grand Cherokee swerved to avoid the debris and hit a tractor-trailer in the adjacent lane. The Jeep then caught fire, killing the driver.

The northbound side of I-91 was closed for a time after the crash. The name of the driver killed was not immediately known to police.

The name of the tractor-trailer driver and company was not released by State Police.

    This was my little brother. We need to take care of each other in this cruel world. Please be kind and take care of everyone you come into contact with.

      So so very sorry for your loss. I always teach my kids to watch out for each other, their friends and family. They older ones now to watch out for all those in need of help.
