Man found on Oak Street

WESTWOOD, Mass. — Westwood police are reaching out to the public for help in identifying a man found on Oak Street this morning, news partner Wicked Local reports.

According to a post on the department’s Twitter page, a man lacking identification was found by the side of Oak Street near Martha Jones Road at 6:30 a.m. He was transported to Norwood Hospital and has not regained consciousness. This person was not carrying identification when he was found.

Westwood Police Chief Jeffrey Silva said the people who called the police performed CPR, but without success. When officers arrived, they used a defibrillator and were able to restart his heart.

“They kept him alive and gave us a fighting chance to save him,” said Silva, who added that the man didn’t appear to be homeless.

Silva said there was no indication of foul play.

Police have described him as a white male approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, 175 pounds, with salt and pepper hair, and maybe in his 50s. He was found wearing a green jogging jacket. Anyone with any information is encouraged to call 781-320-1000.
