Police investigate Boston crash
BOSTON — A woman was struck by a Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority bus in Boston on Monday.
The crash happened at 11:35 a.m. on Columbia Road and involved a Route 41 bus, police said.
Few details were released about the woman’s condition. Transit police are investigating.
NewsCenter 5 and WCVB.com will have more information when it becomes available.
“[The] bus was traveling at reduced speeds when it made contact with the rear of the stopped bus in front of it,” MBTA spokesman Joe Pesaturo said in an e-mail.
The 501 and 505 MBTA buses crashed at 8:20 a.m. while travelling in rush hour traffic near the Prudential tunnel.
The driver of the 501 bus, a woman, reported suffering back pain following the crash. The driver of the 505 bus, a man, reported leg pain. Three passengers also requested medical attention for back pain.
The two drivers and three passengers were taken to Tufts Medical Center for evaluation, Pesaturo said.
State Police closed the right lane of traffic while the buses are towed, creating some slight traffic delays, Trooper Todd Nolan said.
Passengers on both buses were transferred to another bus, Pesaturo said.
